Headline: ASTRAL ALACRITY SURRENDERS
After four days of intense negotiations between Provisional President Charlotte Gladstone, Drop-General Edgar Breakingstar, Admiral Satin, and Admiral Destiny, Alpha Draconis accepted Astral Alacrity’s conditional surrender. Draconis forces will maintain presence for the time being, although a general ceasefire has been called. As the negotiations completed and the ceasefire was called, the terms and conditions of the surrender were released.

ECOLOGICAL DEMONSTRATIONS ON BETA-D
Several ecologically active groups engaged in coordinated protests last Sunday against the devastating effects of overfishing and the rapidly declining population of sail skimmers. The protestors occupied various governmental facilities, critical highway intersections, and airports. They came into conflict with local residents on multiple occasions and police forces did their best to keep the protests under control.
WALL MERCANTILE GOODS: INSTANT HIT
The Gate mission ship, docking at Lux Eterna, has put up the majority of the Wall mercantile goods just brought back for public sale. The colourful, neon goods have instantly become popular among the free merchants hired by Gate in the region and Beta Draconis has been clamouring for these goods. A number of swords with holographic blades, rumoured to be more effective than monoswords, have also been placed on auction. This type of unique technology is called hardlight.
GATE GIVES PERMANENT RESIDENTS CONDITIONAL VOTES
After a heated debate resulting in a referendum, the Gate population has elected to give the permanent residents—including large numbers of merchants and mercenaries—conditional voting rights, dependent on factors such as property owned, length of residence, and how much taxes have been paid. The immigration factions hopes that this will lead to methods of acquiring Gate citizenship other than being born there.
BLAME FLEET ENGAGES ALPHA-D
An early Blame fleet, supported by Gate reinforcements, engaged an Alpha Draconis fleet controlled by Admiral Senator McKinsey. Little is known about it at this time, but it has been confirmed that at least two Blame battlecruisers and one Draconis battleship was destroyed. Both forces withdrew after the inconclusive combat. Admiral Senator McKinsey is expecting the remainder of his armada to rejoin with him next week for a renewed attack on the growing Blame astromilitary.

GATE-WALL DIPLOMATIC MISSION RETURNS
The Gate mission ship, sent out some weeks prior, has returned from the distant Wall stellar system with an embassy and a cargo full of Wall goods. They have docked at Lux Eterna. Gate is currently moving civilian and merchant ship to Lux Eterna for an extended exchange and has begun the process of building a Gate-administrated orbital station around Harren’s World, despite fierce Lux Eterna national protest. Gate is also hiring free merchants at the partially constructed station. The Wall delegate station has aided Gate in their construction.
THE WARSHIP, MONGOLIA SEEN NEAR AA
The Warship, Mongolia, was spotted near Astral Alacrity space conducting maneuvers with Constantine forces. They briefly engaged with an unknown enemy, although only a few shots were exchanged between the parties. Both Astral Alacrity and Alpha Draconis have denied involvement in the action. The Mongolia then proceeded to enter the interstellar minefields, and disappeared from view after activating its spike drive.
ASTRA ALLURE RELEASES NEW ALBUM
The young, hot, new Beta-D pop star, Astra Allure, noted for her predilection for Astral Alacrity and interstellar free trader culture, has release a hit new album with the title “The Stars Align”. This included a song decrying the current war between the Draconis Empire and Astral Alacrity. Astra Allure has been placed under house arrest and is under investigation for seditious activities, despite protests from Beta-D civilians.
